Kerrington Griffin
Kerrington Griffin is a performing artist based in Atlanta, Georgia She graduated from Spelman College in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Performance & Choreography. From Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the home of spice and music, Griffin is no stranger to the Arts. She has been dancing since the age of three and like her mom, joined her home church’s youth ministry where she began acting and dancing. Never confined to a studio, Griffin took every Arts opportunity available. Her musical theatre interests first bloomed as she starred in her middle school’s play, The Happy Elf.
Soon after she became a frequent actor in the community with local theatres New Venture, Upstage, and Theatre Baton Rouge. Like the Theatre, Dance was never too far behind. Griffin began her professional career with Of Moving Colors Dance Company as one of the company’s first apprentices to become a company member while in high school. She has also collaborated with Nyama Contemporary Dance Company’s Roxi Victorian as a founding member and Resident Artist for the Kennedy Center’s REACH facility in 2022.
Like her classmates, COVID heavily impacted her performance journey and halted various endeavors throughout the years 2020-2022 as her first years in college were at home and not in the A, but that didn’t stop her drive. Griffin joined Alliance Theatre Staff as an intern for the 2023-2024 Season and is currently their Spelman Leadership Fellow. When not at Alliance she is leading the WNBA's Atlanta Dream Hypesquad as Captain. Griffin is invested in performance that not only captures the audience but invites them to be a part of its story.
